What´s happening to NIOD?
This was spotted on Nicola Kilner´s (CEO of Deciem) Instagram Page.
What is happening with NIOD? Do we have anything new coming? It seems NIOD is finally getting the spotlight, and this event looked amazing. Hopefully, we will see something new, but if not, it´s nice to see NIOD up there. NIOD is a great brand that doesn´t always get the love it deserves.
The Panel At NIOD Event
The panel consisted of Nicola Kilner, CEO and Co-Founder of Deciem.
Steven Bartlett from Diary of a CEO interviewed Nicola Kilner on his very popular podcast and featured on Dragon´s Den.
Nafisah Abdalla, Deciem´s Science Communications Manager, is someone you may have seen in some of the social media videos.
Sarah Ann Macklin, who I have never heard of, is the founder of The Be Well Collective.
The Ordinary in Vogue´s Beauty Index
Vogue Says: “In the second edition of the Vogue Business Beauty Index, The Ordinary maintains its top spot with a continued perception of quality, effectiveness and value for money, as well as a high regard for its sustainable practices in the eyes of consumers. L’Oréal’s dermocosmetics powerhouses La Roche-Posay and Cerave climb the ranks to second and third position, respectively, with strong advertising campaigns elevating their digital scores. Estée Lauder Acquisition is Complete
June 2024—This month, Estée Lauder Companies announced that it had completed the acquisition of Deciem, The Ordinary & NIOD.
While this seems to surprise many newbies to The Ordinary & NIOD, Estée Lauder has been involved with Deciem since 2017.
Since Estée Lauder´s involvement, there have been huge improvements. There were times when products were out of stock for months, and since Estée Lauder’s involvement, that hasn´t been the case, and some countries with stricter laws can now enjoy products they never could before.
I see the same old comments on Social Media, people hating Estée Lauder; it´s like there´s a script everyone copies and pastes everywhere. Mostly, the comments are about prices rising, and they have. But haven´t prices risen everywhere on everything?
Many products have been discontinued over the last few months, and everyone blames Estée Lauder for this, which may be the case. But what would you do if a product isn´t as popular as others, ingredients are too hard to source, or it´s not making money?
Discontinued Products
The Ordinary currently have a page called “Fond Farewell” where you can find all the latest products being discontinued. If you love them, run, don´t walk! I´m so happy that the majority of these aren´t my favourites, but I am very upset to see the Silicone Primer leave us. It´s the only primer I have used since 2017, and I have no idea which one to try once this goes forever.
